From 8:00am to 2:00pm, 15 little ones have the opportunity to share in activities that reinforce academic skills, explore art and music, and expand upon imagination. Curriculum and play are integrated to develop each preschooler’s educational and social skills for a successful entry into kindergarten. With a strong teaching team that includes the Preschool Director, two Assistant Teachers, a Family Support Specialist and a Cook (along with interns and volunteers), the class provides an outstanding teacher to student ratio. Visits from community partners like the Fletcher Free Library, Burlington City Arts and the Flynn Center add unique enrichment activities to the classroom as well.
Since 2003, the Center has been a collaborative site with Champlain Valley Head Start. summer of 2020 holds many challenges for all of us as we learn to
navigate through the many changes necessary to keep ourselves safe along
with the ones we love, care for, and for the ones we don’t know, but
may be at risk. Sara Holbrook Preschool is following all guidelines set
forth by the Vermont Department of Health to
keep the staff and students of Sara Holbrook Community Center safe. We
at Sara Holbrook hold our community sacred, and we will endure this
together and come out the other side stronger and closer because that is
who our community is.
