From 8:30am to 12:30pm, 15 little ones have the opportunity to share in activities that reinforce academic skills, explore art and music, and expand upon imagination. Curriculum and play are integrated to develop each preschooler’s educational and social skills for a successful entry into kindergarten. With two teachers, an assistant, interns, and volunteers, the class provides an outstanding teacher to student ratio. Frequent visits from the Fletcher Free Library and Very Special Arts Vermont add unique enrichment activities to the classroom as well.
Since 2003, the Center has been a collaborative site with Champlain Valley Head Start. Head Start is a national preschool program that provides educational and social opportunities to nurture the healthy development of children. Head Start recognizes parents as the first and most important teachers of their children, and assists parents in accessing family-centered medical and dental services for their children. If you would like to learn more about Champlain Valley Head Start, you can visit their website or call the Early Care Advocate at (802) 861-3760.
